Next is a timeline, which is essentially a scene selection menu. Next to that is the "Sensory Control" menu, where you can set audio selections, choose one of two audio commentaries — one featuring 26 cast and crew members and another featuring just director James Cameron and co-writer William Wisher. This is also the section where you can enable D-Box motion control, for those who own compatible components, and test your home system with a THX optimizer while the T2 trailer plays.
The "Trivia," "Production" and "Data" overlays provide picture-in-picture content, including interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and tidbits of information coordinated to specific scenes in the film. They're not too disruptive or distracting, and give you a pretty good idea of all that went into the making of the film.
Plus, it's just neat to see what certain scenes looked like from another point of view. For instance, In the scene where the Terminator walks into a bar naked and no, that's not the beginning of a joke , you can see that Arnold was actually wearing a pair of ridiculously colorful board shorts, just to focus everyone's stares in the, uh, right direction.
In "Ancillary Data" you'll find trailers, deleted scenes with optional commentary most these are integrated into the extended cut and a list of credits which was originally offered as an Easter egg on the initial release. Finally, there's "Skynet Access," which delivers even more content through BD-Live if you system is connected to the Internet. One minor complaint is the hang time when switching between interactive features.
The disc has to load each time you move from one section to another, but your patience will be rewarded with eight hours of content, including behind-the-scenes video, multimedia galleries, audio commentaries and games you won't find anywhere else. Score: 10 out of 10 The Bottom Line We won't go so far as to say that there will never be another dip of this popular title, but for now, it's hard to imagine that you'd want anything more from a Blu-ray release than what you get here.
The audio and video quality is stellar and with a nice blend of previously released features and new, exclusive interactive content, this is the most definitive edition of T2 we've seen yet. Was this article informative?
YES NO. In This Article. Terminator 2: Judgment Day. MPAA: R. Release Date. What did you think? More Reviews by Cindy White. The Office: "Suit Warehouse" Review. The Office: "Lice" Review. My favorite feature is the picture-in-picture option, which allows pop-up windows to show various behind-the-scenes shots and techniques.
Since these largely feature Cameron himself, these bits and pieces are highly technical and informative. Speaking of which, there are several audio commentary tracks on this disc, covering nearly thirty crew members on this film.
But most informative of all is, of course, Cameron. The guy lives and breathes detail, and he unleashes reams of information in his audio commentary. The guy is awesome. Included are two deleted scenes that I've never seen before. One is an alternate ending that shows Sarah Connor in playing with John and her granddaughter in a futuristic park and talking about the fact that they changed history. Cameron wisely deleted this horrible scene, which features some of the worst aging makeup ever employed in a Hollywood feature film.
However, it would have also effectively ended any possibility of another sequel - something that might not have been that bad. If you don't own it on Blu-Ray, then this is your big chance to upgrade. This is a terrific version of the film with some nice extra features, despite the annoying menu. Added to your cart. Sorry, there seems to have been an error. Please try again.
